Have you ever seen it work out?

my wife and i were friends for six years before we got married. to make a long story short we thought it would work out even though we are opposites in almost everything. i am a homebody who has a pion for the gym, the outdoors and games. she is the opposite on that. i plan for the future and would like to save more for a good retirement. she spends everything and umes everything will work itself out later on. basically we have few things in common. i dont mind living a simple life and she can't stand it! we both like movies and i tried to use that but she is still unhappy. we are in a different state since i am in the military and our plan was to not spend much money so she can go to school and i could save a little to transition out next year. well she is extremely unhappy here and has even said she has nothing here for her. i have been belittled from time to time and i couldnt take it anymore. i told her that if she has nothing here for her then to make a decision on us. i guess being friends for a while isnt good enough. sorry for the ranting i am just wondering if anyone has gone through this or has known anyone who has.....outcomes?
