Does a copy of Halo3 mess up your XBox 360?

i have heard some rumors saying that when you play Halo 3 on the 360, your system goes to Hell. it breaks, or games don't plat good, or the system runs like crap, i dont know. i need to know if buying H3 would be a big mistake or not.
